Review by hotel critic
A Balance of Comfort and ValueDuring my recent stay at Jemsty Inn, I found it to be a unique experience, albeit with a few caveats. The location near the lake is indeed convenient, especially if you want easy access to the Hakone loop and attractions like the pirate ship. While it's situated at the quieter end of town, dining options can be limited Sunday evenings. The room itself was spacious, clean, and equipped with essential amenities; however, features like air conditioning and free toiletries were a standard expectation for a hotel of this type. Wi-Fi was available, which made planning our days easier. The highlight was undoubtedly the hotpot dinner, which was prepared by the owner's wife. Although a limited menu was offered, the personal touch made it memorable. Mac, the owner, was attentive and provided valuable recommendations for our itinerary, which I appreciated. It's worth noting that the strict protocols may come off as unusual to some travelers, but they reflect genuine Japanese hospitality. For the price, Jemsty Inn offers a blend of comfort and local experience that could be worthwhile, especially for those looking to explore Hakone without breaking the bank.
